Shilpa Shah Co-founder
Shilpa spent her formative years in an enriching environment which crossed over three continents and provided a varied multicultural experience from a young age. She was able to extend her passion for people and places by going into a career in the travel industry, working in Mumbai, Singapore and finally moving to London. There she helped Flight Bookers to take off from its humble beginnings, to eventually managing its head office in London. The teachings of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother have had a sustained deep impact throughout Shilpa’s life; through marriage, raising a family, a career change into teaching to accommodate family circumstances, to being a business professional. This conscious inner quest has drawn people, books, circumstances and all sorts of apparent coincidences that have guided and shaped Shilpa’s progress.
Today, Shilpa and her husband successfully run R.M.Shah Ltd, one of London’s oldest and most respected Diamond and Gemstone merchants. They also own and manage Ilora – a manufacturer of Fine Jewellery – from their offices in Hatton Garden in London.
Over the years, Shilpa has understood the meaning and significance of landmark events in her life, and the strength and professional growth that was gained from striving towards a greater consciousness. Her personal journey has highlighted the need and feasibility to be able to bridge the gap between the inner and outer aspirations in daily life.
As one of the key organisers of ConsciousLab, she hopes to continue her own journey of growth and help provide opportunities for others to explore and perhaps transform their own views on management and professional lives. She is also a Trustee of The Sarvam Trust (a UK registered charity) which is a Rural Village Development programme with strong emphasis on Education, Children and Women’s Empowerment.
